Matchlesses with Tommy Guns

It wasn't just Nortons, it looks as if the RAF Regiment fitted them to G3Ls at Jurby on the IOM.

Jurby

It also looks as if they had Vickers guns on racing sidecar outfits. Please don't go there !:grinning:

They have civvy headlamp masks, maybe the chairs are Home Guard ?

Re: Matchlesses with Tommy Guns

Some fine photographs in a sunny Isle of Man - surprised to see the G3Ls there as I guess the island must have been a bit of a back water in terms of wartime action although I understand a lot of POWS were located there.

There are bound to be some experts here on WW2 aircraft but it looks to me like an Anson. Blenheim and Hurricane on the airfield.

And why is there a Navy Wallah taking the salute?....Ian

Re: Matchlesses with Tommy Guns

Quite a few Home Guard units were given G3L's, I've always thought that was odd considering how wonderful they are supposed to be.

I would like to see better pictures of the sidecars.
