I recently acquired another 8" BO mask and under layers of paint I came across MTO. Rik thinks it might stand for "Mechanical Transport Officer" Ron

In my unit we had the MTWO (Motor Transport Warrant Officer) to sort issues with the vehicles. He probably had an Officer above him (MTO?).
