Re: Honor Blackman DR 1925-2020

Between acting classes, she worked for the 'Home Office' from 1940 as a 'clerical assistant' which obviously must have also meant delivering messages. Ron

Re: Honor Blackman DR 1925-2020

I thought the motorcycle might be a Model 19R but now not so sure - the forks do not appear to be Norton Roadholder but instead may be Matchless - headlamp brackets - no steering damper but instead what appears to be a Matchless domed nut.

Of course I could be entirely wrong but thought I would mention it.

Re: Honor Blackman DR 1925-2020

Matchless forks for sure, wonder how many picked up on that in that photo?

Re: Honor Blackman DR 1925-2020

G3L forks, the must have fitment for any Norton.

Re: Honor Blackman DR 1925-2020

It may have been 1946 Model 18 with girder forks, that someone modernised to tele forks, or it had a front end smash and they fitted what they got hold of?

A spooky precursor to the later AMC/Norton hybrids...Ian
