I have got the webbing to make the pannier Y straps but.....where the three straps join were they just sewn together or were they also riveted. If riveted what type of rivet was used?

Mostly they are sewn with a triangle shape, but I have seen rivets. I've seen/got them in various shapes and colours of leather and webbing.
