Help Amal Carb Identification 275/XA/014R

Hello:
Can anyone ID this carburetor? The number stamped on the body is 275 with X over A with 014R. There is no stamping in the flange. The body is therefore a 275/014R. The 1940-1954 Amal catalog did not have it. I was told it was off a Royal Enfield. There were a few 275/014R in the list, but not for Royal Enfield. Thanks.

Why do you think it might be Royal Enfield Doc?

The 275/014R body (7/8" bore) was used on the Ariel W/NG with a finished carb number of either 275A/2N or 275B/1J. I've no idea why Amal list two numbers for the W/NG carb? My books list the 275B/1J. Ron

Re: Help Amal Carb Identification 275/XA/014R

Ok no Royal Enfields had a 275 body, they often had a smaller body a 274/014 or a 276. The Ariel W/NG had 2 carbies fitted as Ron says according to Amal records 275A/2N is a top feed bowl of 15 degree and the 275B/1J is a bottom feed bowl of 15 degree. I assume some were fitted with a top feed bowl and later changed to bottom feed bowl. Some Panthers also had the 275/014R body fitted
