Identification of unknown girder forks

Could use suggestions as to what make I am looking at.

Casting raised letter on bottom of both legs are: WHT

There two more letters at the bottom support of the main spring: SI or IS.

Much obliged for any comments.

Photos can be provided if it helps.

Thank you.

General photos of the forks might help Henri. Ron

Re: Identification of unknown girder forks

These are Henri's forks. They look like 1930's 'Sloper' to me. Anyone else ID them? Ron

Think it is AJS:

I think you might have nailed it Michiel.:+1: AJS brake drum is on the left. Sloper is on the right. Ron

Re: Identification of unknown girder forks

Wow,

Have had a 1929 R9 sloper sitting with a set of telehydraulic gl3 forks on it for past seven years.

Been searching for a set of correct forks throughout Australia and the ROW endlessly.

The forks in the photos were sold to me as belonging to a BSA.

This set does not exactly match but worth looking into it further.

Now if I could only find the front hub!

Thank you for posting the photos Ron and thank you Michael for your suggestion.

Re: Identification of unknown girder forks

No it is not Sloper, I believe the 500 AJS fork is a little longer than the 350 and very sought after.

If your lucky and it is a 500 you might well be able to swap it for a correct BSA Sloper one, they come up now an then on ebay...

Good luck Michiel

Re: Identification of unknown girder forks

Michael,

I found it. The WHT markings on a 1929 AJS R9 sloper.

But the fork itself attached to a1939 M2 1000cc AJS.

Thanks to you now I realized what it is, I think I would use it on my R9 AJS sloper, but I would need to machine a hub first.

So many choices so few correct decisions

Re: Identification of unknown girder forks

Hi Henri, I now understand you meant AJS Slopers, when I hear "Sloper" I think only of BSA cause they were so famous.

I have a Matchless G3L conrod here also with WHT marking

Good to hear you know what you have! BR Michiel

Re: Identification of unknown girder forks

That was a 1930 M2 1000cc AJS and not 1939 as I wrote in error
