Triumph booty?

Triumph in use by German soldier, looks like a civilian model though,it has the longer front mud guard and no sump guard.

Re: Triumph booty?

I think you are right Steve. I do know that the WD bikes have a 'P' clip mudguard attachment on the fork tubes. But what do you know about a longer mudguard? Is it longer at the back? Ron

Re: Triumph booty?

Hi Ron,yes the front mudguard is longer at the back, you can tell by the angle of the bottom stay/stand,on the military models the mudguard stay/stand has a different part number,I think it is longer to give more clearance.

3HW above with shorter mudguard.
3SW below (rebuilt by Triumph at end of war for civilian market) with shorter mudguard.

3S below, the pre war model with longer front mudguard.

Re: Triumph booty?

Indeed so Steve. It's something I'd never noticed before. It could account for why we've had to chop 2"-3" off 'Ace Classics' reproduction guards?
