Help identifying a thread please....

Hi,
Would any of you fine people happen to know the thread of the bolt that secures the oil pump spindle retaining pin on a WM20?
Mine has has a hard life!!

Hi Scott, it is 1/4" x 26 BSC

Do you mean 65-2579 spindle retaining pin? There is no bolt that secures it, but you do need a bolt to remove it. The manual will tell you to use a timing cover screw. This is wrong as the timing cover screws are 1/4" BSW and the thread in the retaining pin is 1/4" BSCyc/BSF (26tpi)

There should be a thin metal washer on top of the pin to make up any distance between the pin and timing cover to keep it engaged with the slot in the spindle. Ron

Yes thats the kiddie Ron, I must have grabbed a bolt that fitted to keep the washer with it.
While we are talking oil pumps I am on the look out for 12 teeth gears, if anyone has any I am interested!
