"Metal Magic"

Right.......I don't post very often on here, but when I do I hope it's always useful to someone............

Many of us have used Terry at "Metal Magic" or "Heritage Motor Works" in Eversley, Hants, UK, over the years........but let me provide a tad more detail..........I have known Terry since his mid-40s and he is now 73 so I don't recommend lightly......

The business, family run, specialises in traditional metal work and fabrication, including all the old techniques.........they will literally make, repair or fabricate anything made in metal.................

This work doesn't always come in cheap, but the hours spent getting your item as original as can be is money well spent.......

In particular, Terry's son Drew is now an expert in repairing and refurbishing petrol and oil tanks from the most rusty remains..................

Terry's business is for classic car and motorcycle, and whilst he loves vintage cars and commercials he holds a soft spot for motorcycles, and in particular WD models, but he has a particular affection for the James ML and Royal Enfield Flying Flea, and he is now the premier source of reproduction cycle parts for both models apart from the larger WD machines...........if he can't supply an elusive item then he will source a pattern and make it.......he is very old school in his mannersims but without the brashness of perhaps Russell Motors............

As mentioned, he can make literally ANYTHING from metal.........

Do bear in mind however, that whilst running from Monday to Friday, plus the odd Saturday morning too, this remains a very small operation.........Three metalworkers, including Terry, and every time the phone rings then one person has to stop ! There is a young lady in the office to answer calls, but with so many being rather technical they usually end up with Terry or son Drew.....!

The chaps have lunch between 1 - 2pm, and the business is usually up and running between 0830am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.................emails may take some time to respond to so always best to phone on 0118 9 731631........personal attention assured...........personal callers are also very welcome..........

This is possibly one of the very few traditional metal working businesses's remaining in the UK today, and quality and accuracy are this company's trademark. If it isn't right first time round then they will endeavour to get it right......customers are first...............but please remember that Terry is now 73, still works full time, is a font of knowledge, but son Drew is also equally as good...............

I rarely ever mention good services but in this instance I'm happy to........

Re: "Metal Magic"

Just finished fitting a Metal Magic front mudguard on my G3WO. Perfect fit. Exact replica of a period one.

And If anyone wants one, I have a Metal Magic rear carrier for a WDG3L which was made up in round tubing, not channel and it is decidedly second hand but totally sound and correct pattern, in need of minor adjustment of supports so going FREE! But I am not posting it. Collect from me.....somewhere?

Re: "Metal Magic"

Ferg, all you need to do now is pay me the substantial Royalties that I am owed for lending Terry the very rare original G3WO mudguard that he used as a pattern. How are you getting on with your G3WO? I am planning on selling my 1941 G3WO which is a non panel tank model. Cheers, JT

Re: "Metal Magic"

I am sure Terry will be happy to pay you a fee, John........just don't expect any new parts from him to fit! I have a pile of "interesting" ancillaries pulled off the WO and with decent mudguard and silencer, it is beginning to look like it should. Cheers, JT.

Re: "Metal Magic"

I can only agree. If quality is what you are after, then 'metal magic''s the way to go for sure.
