Steve Drewitt - WD / Civvy Flea Crank and Case Differences

Thought I'd start a new thread here that can be used for future Group reference.

The few pre-war Civvy Enfield 125cc "Royal Baby" and the wartime WD/RE "Flying Flea" used a different crankshaft assembly and casings to those used post-war............these differences are shown here (in the images)............you can actually interchange complete crank assemblies between cases, but you cannot interchange individual components.................nearly all of these differences cannot be seen from the outside of the engine, but this info is useful if rebuilding a wartime Flea with post-war components..........

The wartime crank assembly is basically narrower, and the crankcase with greater cutaways.............
