Royal Enfield WD / CO big end bearing..help please

Hi Can anyone give me the dimensions for the big end bearing on my 1944 WD/CO. I am sure the correct bearing from Alpha is R8. I have been sold what is supposed to be an R8 one at an autojumble and want to make sure its the right size before I dismantle the engine. Many Thanks Andy B

I think the correct code for this big-end assembly (which also fits early 350 Bullets,) is RE8.

Andy the original big end for these is a floating bush type. Hitchcocks list the floating bush and also the RE8 roller bearing (Alpha) complete assembly. I'm sure they used to offer both complete options. Best strip it first and see how much wear there is. You might get away with a new white metal floating bearing. Ron
