Thread cutting tools

Hi,

Found a thread cutting tool box for sale. It is B.S.B from British Tap & Die CO Ltd.
Five different sizes in a wooden box, pre war according to the seller.

Is this set useful for a British motorcycle? All these different threads are a mystery to me....

Thanks, Menno

Re: Thread cutting tools

British Standard Brass - often 26tpi as per cycle thread but a different thread angle. If you like the box and will enjoy owning it, then buy it - but don't expect it to come in very useful !

Re: Thread cutting tools

B.S.B is British Standard Brass thread...Not particularly useful on a British bike and more commonly found in other applications...

The Tap & Die Company are based in London and are currently in business...The business is run by a very helpful Indian chap who carries taps and dies in most British thread forms and is reasonably priced...

I have sourced tools from there many times...I wasn't aware and am unsure whether they have such a long history...Unless of course he bought up an older company...Ian....
