Considering the recent discussion on the forum regarding tax discs on military bikes, what do you reckon to this? It appears to be in primary std packaging etc.
Military vehicle have always had to be road legal to the standard of the country they are being used in, although it may not have been enforced in France or Germany in 1944.
Here in the UK the standard road fund licence disc was used on WD vehicles for a period early in the war, and then a Defence of the Realm exemption disc was issued for the rest of the war, RAF Defence of the Realm discs were displayed on motorcycles in tax disc holders more than the Army version, which was often attached inside the AB412 log book and carried by the rider who would be expected to produce it for inspection when required.
hello,
got one of these since 2 years, 1954 dated, new in box, maybe from the same seller, clearly postwar, and clearly military, but blue/grey painted!!?? and not RAF marked, maybe more accurate than a modern one.
