A buddy of mine, David, is looking for some tools for the WM20.
(Mainly a steering head bearing race extractor right now)
I was trying to point him to Robb's site, but it is down.
Anyone here knows if there is another site or ש catalogue ?
(Hi says tried the but it did not work or something,
And anyway, he ma be looking for some more tolls)
A genuine factory tool or a tool that can do the job?
You can make one from 30cm long bar round steel (dia 20mm) and grind of a long (+20cm) wedge.
Not all the way, leave the last 10mm standing, thus creating a 'nose' at the end.
With some R&D you shape this nose that it just grabs under the rim of the bearing cup inside the headstock from underneath -ehhh, obvious?
David is looking for the tool as shown at Rob's post/photo.
I remember Robb Nortier had a site in which he had some other interesting tools,
(http://www.britishtool.com/) but no site now...
Does anyone knows the thread of the of the inside of the race?
I got one from Russells a while back. If you still have the BSA threaded type races in your Frame then this tool is great. Don't know if Russels still have stock but it was cheap (BSA-SC1).
Rob's site has been down for near 3 years.
He no longer does the Brittish tools bit but occasionally posts here so if you send him a PM and don't be a typical cheapskate British bike rider and whinge about prices , he might rummage throuhg the shop & find some stuff for you.
I have one of his clutch tools, Think last aw it 2 years ago but some member is currently using it and can highly recommend it.
AFAIK, he has given th tools bit up and is actually doing some serious riding.
