Today while riding the bike for the last time of the season to bring it into warm winter storage, the speedometer was working weird. While riding 45 or 50, it was indicating 60 to 70 MPH. It's never done that before and I'm wondering if the cold weather can affect the instrument. It was below freezing. Could whatever minimal lubrication that is in the thing be thickened up and affecting it?
Hi Sam: that sounds odd. I took the new BMW for the last ride today and it was only -3 C and the speedo worked fine LOL! The Ariel has been away for about a month Stay warm my friend. Winter will only last 5 months!
Hi Steve, yeah, I thought it odd too, figured there might be an explanation, maybe not, just one of those things I guess, of course it is a Norton, so maybe I was really going 70! :-)
