Reminder about fuel taps (Steve Willys and Simonofsweden, etc.)

If you are sourcing new/repro/NOS fuel taps remember that some types are designed to operate only "wet": if you turn them on/off before you install them and fuel up, you may ruin the internal seal before first use. Riders have ruined a new tap just on the trip back from the shop by working it on/off in the car on the way home!

when I was doing any long down time I would take off the taps and keep them in a jar with some petrol to keep them moist
