Handlebar end caps

Hi

I am looking for handle bar end caps in stainless steel

Sometime ago someone made or recommended where these could be obtained but I cannot find the link

Bars are from a BSA M20

If not available - is there anyone who would make some sets for me ?

Re: Handlebar end caps

Hi all

Thank you for the help so far

The photo posted by Henk illustrates what i am looking for

I would prefer these in stainless steel - after I can bead blast to simulate cadmium plate

Roy - can you make these ?

I wait to hear from you

Best regards

Re: Handlebar end caps

Hi John,

Make sure you give the correct inside diameter of the tube used to make the handlebars, not all tube is the same and probably non are the same as the very thick original handlebars.

Re: Handlebar end caps

Here the picture again before Henk changes it again!

Will see tonight is I can find some NOS ones, thought they were Matchles but may well be BSA.

And for good measure a picture of the Norton ones;

These are NOS matt chrome ones.

Cheers,

Lex

Re: Handlebar end caps

by the way, lex,is the Norton handlebar also 7/8 inch

Re: Handlebar end caps

Roy, only late war Nortons had 7/8" bars, so if yours are that, they must be from a 1944/45 16H.

Lex

Re: Handlebar end caps

I only have 2 as samples, (and one or two I lent to another guy who was going to repro them, will ask him first if he has done anything with them, Bastiaan???) one for 1" bars, and one for 7/8" bars,

But they seem to be slightly different then Henk's picture? more square corners?;

Cheers,

Lex

Re: Handlebar end caps

Hello Roy

It seems we need to progress this as a project

I will send information to you on the handlebars i have - dimensions etc

It has been suggested that aluminium might also be a suitable material to use rather than stainless steel

Its a cadmium type finish i want to achieve, bead blasted st steel is very close to this & aluminium also tones down in time in use

I will contact you later

Best regards

Re: Handlebar end caps

The ones Lex shows are Matchless

Re: Handlebar end caps

Yes, they were in my Matchless box, but thought they were maybe same as BSA.

Thanks,

Lex

Re: Handlebar end caps

Hi,

I have noticed this topic a while ago. I am also looking for a set of handlebar end caps for my BSA.

I went to several companies to look at the options to reproduce them, based on the photo of Henk and the caps of Lex.

I have found a company who can make them for 17,50 euro a set. The material they are using is steel.

Postage to the UK should not be to expensive, because a set of caps will fit in a standard envelope.

Is anyone interested in a set?

Cheers,
Bastiaan

Re: Handlebar end caps

Hi all,

The end caps are ready. One set is 15,70 euro without postage. Anyone who is interested can email me directly.

Cheers,
Bastiaan
