I am making great progress with my 1940 M20.

I recently purchased an early 3 1/2 Gallon tank along with early levers from our helpful friend Hussien (Cairo)

I've also been lucky enough to obtain a DU142 head lamp and original early short field stand. 😄

Then would you believe it ... I bumped into Rob Miller this weekend at Cobbaton clear out weekend who kindly pointed out to me an 8" blackout mask that was going begging ... (lucas Lite) a civilian type I belieave but now looks great on my headlamp 👍

I expect my luck has ran out now (I know my piggy bank has) but does any one out there know where I can find the nut that secures my field stand spring clip to the lug that is purpose built into rear mud guard stay support ?

The thread looks good on the lug ! I just require the correct size nut..... Any ideas ???

Its going to be 5/16" or 3/8" 26tpi Cycle thread I expect, I can measure tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Mark you can buy all sizes of cycle thread nuts and bolts quite cheaply from 'Nooky' They are nicely made in England. They are zink plated whereas the original WD finish would have been Cadmium. I've taken to buying loads of them and then sending them off by the ice cream tub full for cad plating. http://www.nookysnuts.com/
