Two slightly differing parts, One has a part number on it but its very difficult to make out, however the last digit appears to be more like a "3" than a "1".
The difference is the angle of the hole for the brake rod and although it doesn't look a lot it does make quite a difference to the mounting angle and height of the rod.
Can anyone confirm that my unnumbered example is the standard WD version 15-7961?
'Required when footplates are fitted' refers to the G14 I imagine...I think that was the only model fitted with them for that year (the last year of G14 production)...
I'm not sure whether they were an option on other models...
The WD lever is the one where the hole for the brake rod is at 90 degrees to the axis of the lever itself....Ian

I'm going to have to take the one off my running M20 now because it looks like I have the M21 sidecar version on there, and I have always had trouble with the brake rod wing nut fouling the prop stand washer, but it looks like the 90 degree version could make it worse?
Pass...I'm confused...I don't seem to have had the 'contact' problem on my bikes...
Whether you have the sleeve that fits over the brake arm, the positioning of the stand and clip, the amount of wear in the brake shoes (and thus the amount of adjustment of the nut), wear of the brake arm pivot shaft and its housing and the length of the rear chain (position of wheel) could all be factors...Ian
The right hand column is the part numbers for the G14, the left hand column is M20-M21-M23 so it would appear that Footplates were theoretically an option for "M" range models in 1940.
M20 and M21 both had the same frame so I assume they didn't recommend the larger (6b & 6c) sidecar chassis on an M20 and therefore the alternate rear brake lever was only listed for the M21.
