Just had our first Hare & Hounds Enduro of the year (think 1960's scrambling....) @ Middle-Hills in Derbyshire, myself on the B25.
Usual mixed bag of old and new +20'Brit-bike' - a few nice AMC period pieces, a FAST TriBsa, lots of B44/50's and a ...........................
M21 .... 1948 600 SV in a B31/3 plunger chassis - complete with morris-minor hydraulic damping .........
Now, we often get the unusual, but this IS UNUSUAL - did the 2 hours without problem, a bit slow, but hell did he get some attention.
Covered in Re-rod crash-bar things, it wasn't badly built and according to his mates last year they did a 3hour enduro and this was the only bike to do the full distance .....
Now. all I need is a method to upload the pix - can I email it to someone, for them to do as I'm at work and am locked out of virtually everything 'social'.
Have posted pix to another Nigel (Green) in ozz, for him to upload - will try and find out how to do it myself one day, but like to get in the shed when I get home - not mess with computers..
For the speed orientated out there, I am determined get the 3HW to go fast and try for a few records, probably will have a go at a side-valve as well.
So am re-acquainting myself with a few old mates from the sprinting/drag world at the following meetings;
MELBOURNE - 2/3 JUNE - DRAG/SPRINT EVENT
ELVINGTON AIRFIELD - 16/17 MAY - UK FLYING MILE/KILOMETER RECORDS
PENDINE SANDS - 21/22/23 MAY - WORLD SPEED RECORDS (AMA same body as Bonneville - but at sea level)
I'll see if there's any interesting M20/21 WW2 type bikes running in these ?
No problems Nigel. The 'ugly' comment was directed solely at the Morris Minor suspension conversion, not the bike itself. I reckon it's a little cracker!
He must trust the Moggy damper because I see he's completely removed the lower rebound springs...
Oh yes, that was another 'tweak' .... virtually no springing on the damper side + a s/car spring 'off something' on the other side !!!!!
I rode behind him for a few hundred metres, over a series of 'whoops' which have even has ohlin damped suspension tying itself in knots - rode it beautifully ....
Mind you, with only something like 2-3" or travel, you may as well have been racing a rigid....
Rode the next venue last night - unlike the last one which was a bit MX/Scramble like - this one is basically a fast Trials course ... god knows how he will fare on it!
