When attempting to mount the cylinder head on my -47 M21 I come across a couple of stripped threads. Someone got any tips or info on where to buy Helicoils? And also, what thread (CEI?) and dimension is it (I live in one cite and the bike and it's manuals live in another).
Living in metric-land I am quite sure I will have to buy this from somewhere on the internet so any tips will be helpful!
You can get the easy to use kits from www.uni.thread.com 01803 867832 the web site shows the 3/8" BSF kits you want, you get 10 inserts with each kit. Extra inserts can be brought from them. When they say length of insert is 1D or 2D they mean in your case that 1D is the dia of the thread to be repaired. so when fitted the lenght of the insert will be 3/8 in length or 3/4 in length. They are good quality kits for the price.
