This subject has been discussed previously and I think you may get a range of opinions expressed....
A friend of mine bought an M20 set on behalf of (and at the suggestion of) a customer to fit to a Levis restoration as forks for that machine are virtually impossible to find...
He bought them for me to look at after they had the paint blasted off...
I thought they were very poorly made and as well as self evident crude manufacture there were dimensional differences when compared to a NOS original set I have...
On the basis that 'something is better than nothing' they are at least available...
However, expect the poor quality control and manufacturing standards of the Indians to be present and obvious...
I looked at them without preconceived ideas and only from the point of view an engineer...
My conclusion was they were poorly made and might well require some additional work to make them useable..
As far as the overall material specification of the assembly and heat treatment and spec. (of the spring) was concerned they can only be regarded as an unknown quantity...
Ultimately they may well be usable even though they are crudely made but they wouldn't be something I would be in any hurry to use....Ian
