Wanted 16h photo

I remember a photo in I think classic motorcycle of a 16h captioned that it was in italy. The headlamp glass and reflector were missing and it was in generally rough shape. A soldier was seated on it and a scruffy small lad of about ten was looking at the bike. I cannot find the photo in the archives of the classic motorcycle, does anybody out there have it?? Thanks

Re: Wanted 16h photo

The reason I ask is that the C number was close to mine, from the same contract.

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Hi Keith,

I have been looking through my 16H photos, I have quite a few, but can't find a photo that could be the one. What is your tank number? Can have a look if I have an other photo close.

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Hi Henk
Thanks for looking for me. The C num is 4858652. Anything near that would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Hi Keith,

Could you send me your email address? I have a few the are kind of close.

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Is it W76652, Keith ?

It's certainly not a photograph description that I recognise. I only have one image from contract S150 - it is from the Australian archives and shows WD16H C4859112 in the Far East.

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Also looked for this picture, but nothing? are you sure it was a 16H?

It does ring a bell.......

Let me know when you find it please,

Lex

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Thanks Henk, I've sent you an email

And Lex it was 16h I'm pretty sure.

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Oh and Rik if you could post that picture from the far east it would be great!

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Indeed they are! And not the bolt on type, but the type that clamps to the frame tube as also fitted to Triumphs. Ron

Re: Wanted 16h photo

Ahhh, so my clamp on reg on the trumpet is correct - thought it was an Indian afterthought...

Keep the learning coming

Re: Wanted 16h photo

On the opposite side on the Triumph though...Ian

Re: Wanted 16h photo

It makes more sense on the opposite side...on the Norton it is necessary to remove the toolbox in order to access the clamp retaining screws...
