This Enfield appears to be one of the re builds just post war.
Can I get a few reviews on the correct / wrong parts please.
I can see wrong ampmeter, speedo bracket, levers might be ok.
Matching frame & engine numbers as per factory re builds.
The engine has the contract code CS 1546 still visible.
Interesting to note this machine was at Goodwood 2014, were Geroge Brown a DR vet was modelling Enfields new range of clothing
I was asked if I would put my own CO on the Royal Enfield stand at Goodwood. But I needed it for our two laps per day of the circuit plus I wanted it to transport me to and from the camp site.
Your speedo bracket is correct for a CO. Your brake and clutch levers are nice brass items but not correct for a CO. according to O&M Contract S1546 was 5000 machines delivered in 1944.
I think Frame number M10346 is from contract C13869 in 1942.
I think the bike has been poorly hand painted over pitted metal, which is reflected in the low buying price of £3800. The pannier bags are just cheap webbing back packs.
Still looks like a very viable project to me.
