My current switch is functioning well and this one went a little too high to put on the shelf, just in case.
What needs upgrading on your present set-up ?
I did buy some genuine NOS 200290 brushes today as they are consumables.

My existing switch is fine, in fact it was new about 15 years ago...
However, as I am currently working through a very thorough rebuild of my M20 I'm taking the opportunity to fit NOS wherever possible and refurbishing/overhauling the remainder to bring the bike up to A1 spec....
There is an extensive list of NOS parts being fitted this time round as I'm not planning to rebuild the bike again during my ownership...Ian

Original Lucas switches with 3-positions are now becoming increasingly hard to find, particularly NOS.......plenty of copies out there though..........
The 4 position WD switch hasn't been copied (yet) fortunately or unfortunately but is still fairly common...........As with Ian, I have "up-graded" both light switches in the 16H and Ariel W/NG with NOS items as I have found them, even though nothing wrong with both 4-position switches fitted other than a bit of "play"............
Difficult to find the late war 4-position switches now bearing the "Test" position (for bikes with the light switch fitted below the saddle).............
Even rarer is the unique James ML 4 position switch (less than 6000 WD ML's supplied plus spares) produced between 1943 - 45........positions "OFF, T, H, L" (the latter two positions reversed and the central switch rotor being different to the normal switch with "Off, T, L, H" positions...........)........no Lucas marking on the James switch either..........
Should anyome consider using an Indian replica of the Lucas U39 3 position switch note that is was made originally for the Indian Enfields and has a slightly differently shaped operating cam than the originals...
So, if you wire up to an original wiring diagram things may not work as you expect them to...
The cam can be reworked with a file to the correct shape (if you have an original to copy) and they will then work OK...Ian
