Stafford Classic Bike Show...

It's that time of year again and Stafford Classic Bike Show and Jumble is looming (25th./26th. April)...

Who's planning to go from the forum?..

For those familiar with the event I'll be in pretty much my usual spot...If you're a first time visitor my pitch number is 418..It's an outside pitch and you can get details of the location from the Mortons staff in the main hall..

Hopefully I'll see some of you for a chinwag over the weekend...Ian

You are such a pansy John, just bring your tent and sleeping bag.

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

Henk you didn't know what a Pansy is till I explained it. You only knew about Tulips.
And who ever thought about putting cheese in a currant bun?.....But I love it

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

Yes, I am making the pilgrimage, which for me kills two birds with one stone. The first old bird is my mother-in-law, so I get brownie points for taking my wife to visit her for the weekend in Birmingham, and I get a bed within easy reach of Stafford and don't have to suffer two days of descriptions of octogenarian bodily malfunctions and related medication! Win-win really! And I found someone who will be at Stafford to take on the rebuild of my Sunbeam motor. And anyone who eschews the delights of camping at Stafford in April is just sane!

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

Hi Henk

When it comes to Stafford I am a pansy & proud

There is a good pub next door and it's fair to say - I do like a drink - on a social basis of course

:-)

netley marsh is different though - I do enjoy stopping in site there - but it does tend to be a bit warmer in September

Join us down pub

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

I'll be there Ian. Glenda has even said she enjoyed last year and will tag along again, but I think it's so I don't buy something else 😄
I will be up on Sunday and track you down for a natter.

You haven't lived, try cheese on Soreen malt loaf, Danish blue on it is fantastic.

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

I don't know if I will be able to make it this year but I am having a new batch of solid copper head gaskets made to go up there.

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

I take it there would be no hotels available by this time so how do I look about booking into camping? Still not 100% sure if I can make it, but im looking in to it.

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

The Show is just off the M6 (Stafford North) and is very easy to get to so you can give yourself quite a wide search radius for hotels. Try Stone, or Newcadtle under Lyme for a start, if not Stafford itself. Even Birmingham is only 20 minutes away if you get somewhere close to the M6.

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

I would love to go as I'm sure I'd have more chance finding the parts I need, than in Oz!

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

Hi Carla

We don't know how lucky we are, particularly in the southern UK

There are numerous autojumbles & shows to go to if you want - including the netley marsh & stafford shows - although stafford is more a Midlands based event

When based in Scotland, I had to take some days holiday to go to some events along with hours on the road there and back - now I live within 10 miles of Kempton & 40 mins by train from Russel motors - am happy out !

Those of us who live in the UK especially South have it sorted really

Re: Stafford Classic Bike Show...

As I live in 'Gods Country' (some would call it bandit territory) I'm a bit too far west and have to make a journey to get anywhere...

Of course there are sheep farms bigger than the South of England in OZ.. ...Ian
