Further to my earlier post....what i am wanting to do is to convert a trip equipped civilian speedo to a non trip type. I was thinking of blanking off the bulb holder and trip holes and putting a new dial with no trip apeture over the movement and removing the trip mechanism. Does anyone know of a source for good replacement dials? I would post photos but dont know how!
The empty cases often turn up at auto jumbles especially the guy who gets to Kempton and other jumbles. I wouldn't bother about removing the trip mechanism just change the dial, you won't know its underneath. Be careful removing the needle they tend to fly off, replacements are like hens teeth.
