In the WD parts list for the WD Flea (contract S.6602 an Contract S.7112) there is listed a plate for protecting the magneto (external)..........
I've got one of these plates, and it's a 1/8ths thick steel "banana" shaped curved strip that fits onto two extended hexagonal nuts securing the magneto cover plate...........part number 31247...........
This was obviously designed to prevent an ammo boot from ripping off the magneto HT lead pick-up and/or wiring socket............and discontinued post-war too......(seemed a good idea in my humble opinion at the time)..........
Anyone know or got images to confirm that these were fitted on the earlier first contract Flea's or were a retrospective fitting in light of certain "incidents" occurring ?
