Hi all

does anyone know who might be able to cover an existing modern type wire harness with cloth or fabric to replicate harnesses found on bikes from the 1960's / 1970's etc ?

I have heard there might be someone who can do this

as always, would be greatful for any help or steer in the right direction

John, did cloth-covered survive into the 1970s ? The earliest '70s bike that I've had was a 1971 build 750 Commando and that had vinyl insulation with lots of soldered bullets.

my very original 72 T100R had a fabric harness and my brothers A65 Thunderbolt (1970)also has one be it in poor shape just now

maybe it was a Norton thing for them to change over before Triumph/bSA

The Commando was much more advanced, of course....and was really a Matchless. Maybe BSA / Triumph held off changes until the introduction of the OIF models ?

I had a tea chest full of NOS wiring harnesses from the ill fated Norton '76' Commando...They were partially cloth covered...Ian

Was the Norton '76' anything other than a press mock-up ? Most odd regarding the wiring harness. I've never seen cloth on a 1970s build.
