Granddad was a DR rider in WW1, have a pix of him on a Rudge Multi and one on a 2 3/4 HP Douglas - he later went on to race Dougie's @ the IOM.

I have a later Douglas - was chasing a 'H' - ended up buying the bloody 3HW.
And hence onto this rather strange forum ......

Rik, you beat me to it, I had seen this image before and was trying to find it. I did try to ride with the kilt before ( WWII Black Watch) . The trick is not getting arrested for indecent exposure! :-)

Bram and his son were riding their bikes in Normandy one year with kilts......But they do have quite nice knees Ron
