looking at you tube clip I came across this photo a Norton I think small spring on the front of the girder forks and a squared off tool box cant see much else of the bike the C number on the tank 4399507 working for the advanced blood bank looks like in the desert

It's at 6.48. A standard Norton 16H. Over painted in the field by the look of it. The small spring is one of the side check springs and it's a normal 16H tool box. Ron

So it's official... we can now half paint our bikes desert brown and green..!

The picture is a fairly well-known one. I have scanned it at some time in the past. I believe from one of the Roy Bacon Norton books.

Norton liked it enough to use it in their wartime advertising. They did put a logo back on the fuel tank first though.
