Can I suggest that anyone restoring or maintaining a bike should first of all obtain a workshop manual and a parts list. Sometimes the illustrated parts lists can be of more value than a workshop manual. They are all available from one source or another and often, free to download on line.

This is my hobby and I'm more than happy to take pictures or help with queries if I can, but lots of the answers can easily be at your own finger tips. Ron

I'd like to publicly thank you Ron for the help you have given me with the flea and the Matchless. Unfortunately Ron had to put up with me ringing him for dimensions of parts that I needed to make, parts that I didn't have in the first instance so I couldn't copy them for any existing part and especially with the Flea where I had so many parts missing and so many parts to make!

Thanks for the kind words Dave and no problem when you need dimensions. I'm the first to ask for help from other forum members when I need it. I just find it odd that some guys will ask for their ignition timing or tappet clearance settings.

I was talking to one guy by email who was asking me these basic questions. I linked him to Rob Van Meel's site for reprint manuals. He told me that he already had the books but found it easier to ask me as he assumed I had all the answers in my head Ron
