Rob, I cannot provide any information but if there is an official ceremony I would like to take my 94 year old fatherinlaw who was one of the soldiers sacrificed at Calais when Churchill refused to allow them to evacuate. Please keep me posted if you find out any information. John
It seems that any events will take place around the Whitsun weekend (not 1st June !)
The MV parades and displays at the 70th anniversary were organised by IMPS and they didn't publicise it, as far as I can tell. They seem to be visiting Jersey for liberation celebrations next year though. I've seen nothing from MVT sources and of course 1940 vehicles are a little thin on the ground.
For the 70th, Fort Leffrinckoucke / Fort des Dunes was used by some Belgian re-enactors and vehicles but I can see nothing for next year.
Without any official agreement, it will be difficult to organise anything and of course there is the difficulty of enforcing a 1940 cut-off date.
I spent a bit of time in Dunkirk on the way to Arnhem this year, its a pretty big modern place with a horrible traffic system, so I think I will give it a miss next year, I have a friend who wants to go with his 1940 Bedford OY so I will let him know what's happening.
