Just fitted new clutch fibre dicks and having a few problem
The new fibre disks are around .120" thick now and the originals if I am correct are .95-.100" thick, The only way I can see the new ones will work is if I take out 2 fibre disks and metal plates, Any one had to remove this many and if you did did it work

The original thickness of a new disc is 3/32" which is under .094" and would stack at about 3/4". Yours would stack at just under an 1" by 1/32". In my opinion they are too thick and should be returned as unfit for purpose.

Lots of us will remove one friction and one steel to create a lighter clutch with more separation room in the basket. You would be removing plates to just get them in there.

We are forewarned to check with suppliers on the correctness of the discs before purchase I think.

I have removed a pair of plates (1 fibre and one metal) on my M20 clutch and it works very well.

But I believe that by removing one pair you are actually doing away with the action of the next pair as well, as the metal plates alternate with there attachment to the inner and outer of the clutch you are left with one fibre plate sandwiched between two similar steel plates.

So if I'm right you could remove two fibre and two steel plates.

I would also return the fibre plates as unfit for purpose...The dimension given by Ron is the correct one...

I do have a slight vested interest as I can supply the correct thickness plates (which are UK made and also tolerant to oil contamination) for £40 for the set of 8.. ...Ian
