I'm making great progress with my '58 M21, much of it down to the help I've received on this forum - thanks guys.

This bike arrived with me in "large lumps" so it is mostly complete, but there are a few bits missing I have been trying to track down with limited success and I have three questions I'm hoping someone can help me with....

I'm missing top toolbox fixing clip 24-8928 (alternatives 42-9020 and 27-9001) and I can't get one anywhere. These must be quite simple to make so, does anyone have a decent pic of this part with approximate dimensions that I can use to make one up please?

I'm also after rear brake pedal stop 65-7080, again these are nowhere to be found and I'm not too sure where and how it fits. Does anyone have a pic/dimensions for this part - it looks (from the parts book) to be a simple "L" shape?

Finally I'm a bit baffled by the rear brake rod route. It seems I will have to bend an offset into the (new) rod to clear the plunger suspension and maybe fit the rear brake cam lever so the rod runs close to the brake plate? Any pics anyone's?

Hi Gary...Illogical as it may seem the plunger brake rod does have a 'dog leg' in it...So it's just a case of offering it up to the bike and 'tweaking' to suit....

I always thought this was odd but it is clearly shown in the plunger parts list as being so...and I've had a number of plungers that conform to that layout...

Subject to the diameter of the frame tube being checked the toolbox clip appears to be the same as the military one...It's just a 'p' clip that fits round the frame tube and is bolted to the top of the toolbox...

If the frame tubes are the same diameter you may well get this part from Russell Motors...So, first measure the plunger frame tube and I will check that against my M20s frame...Ian

Thanks Ian, diameter of plunger frame tube is 7/8".

Hi Gary...The M20 frame is only 3/4" diameter so no easy solution there...

At the moment my scanner/printer is defunct so I'm afraid I can't help with a sketch of the part...Hopefully someone else will come to the rescue...Ian

That should not be a difficult part to fabricate at home. Start at a plumbing supply shop and look for a steel pipe hanger for 7/8" diameter pipe. You may find one that works off the shelf, as it were, or one that you can modify to fit. I used pipe hangers to secure the rear mudguard to the frame cross bridge below the seat of my WM20 ( but don't tell Rik or Ron Pier!). The only telltale is that the steel is a thinner gauge.
