Sorry for the barrage of posts - I'm on a final push to finish the project!
I've miss-placed the original screws somehow - I looked on draganfly but they refer to a screw AND nut, but the headlamp shell already has a nut built into it.
Has anyone had to source these before?
And while I'm on, did anyone ever come up with a method to replace the rubber seal / gasket for the panel too?
I'm sure it's a BA thread on the screws, you'll have to measure them for which one. A line of silicone on the inside of the panel, then let it dry before fitting it should be ok as a seal. I think mine has a length of rubber threaded in and out of the holes in the shell, but unlikely to stop any water. I sprayed some oil inside the shell and if any water gets in it should come out the hole for the spring catch.
The original seal on the wartime "D" and post-war "M" headlamps was thin rubber in either black or red rubber........it was simply "knotted" at one end and then threaded in and out of the holes in the shell...........
I used thin red rubber bands (those regularly dropped by the postman outside your house will suffice) which, when cut and stretched, look similar to the original tubing..........a smear of clear silicone can help provide a reasonable seal........
Russell's did have some NOS Lucas headlamp panel screws...........nice cadmium finish too......
