Henk, FFS do something about these new codes...It's taking me on average three or four goes to post anything; I'm on the point of throwing my toys out of the pram...
The problem seems to be the lower / upper case invisibilities.
Here we go....nkG3va...Bugger ! k8zARK...Cobblers ! ySDRmB
Yes ! Third Time Lucky...No idea what I did wrong..38FNKw
I've moaned at Henk also. One day I had five attempts and couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. He said it's Bravenets doing, not his. The only option is to risk cancelling it altogether. Ron
I wish they had stayed with the house numbers, I don't really like these very much myself either but I have no choice, they do as they think is necessary.
Henk, I am also a member of the Triple M forum for pre- war MG owners. We have to register to become a member but this just needs the approval of the forum owner. Then we have to enter a user and password that takes seconds and the result is that there is never any spam. In addition uploading photos is simple as you just attach them like you would any attemptment to a document. I have tried about 20 times to post a forsale note on here recently and then gave up. However, for all our comments this is still a great forum and you are to be congratulated for your efforts. Best wishes John
I don't have too many problems after initially not being able to get it to work at all (some weird glitch)...
You have to take care to determine capitol letters from non capitol letters in the code. If unsure or if the letters are not clear I just click 'different image' until a clear one comes up...
Personally I don't visit any sites that require a password/user name or registration....Ian
Personally I do not have any gripes with the current validation system. I do often recycle the code on option until I get one I fully understand, otherwise I have found it trouble free and easy...
The "Captcha" system helps prevent automatic scanning and spamming of this site (or any site) by ne'er do wells. I know it's a pain ... but it seems a safe approach for this site.

Same here..
Usually it works first time, every time for me,
And yes, there was no code till a short while ago, but then the spam attack started..
Noam.
I really don't understand that it would/should be easier with the stupid method here, then with a proper forum, where you have to log in with the same code every time???? (that is a real no brainer for me!)
And at that, a modern computer (automaticly) remembers your login code for you, so it is waaaaay simpler to use then this outdated system! I'm thinking of stopping altogether if it doesn't change, half of the time I get it right, but it's a real pain.....
I am finding it rather yesterdays technology in terms of logging on also. However I am very grateful for the resource so cannot complain. Perhaps the introduction of a password system as Lex says may negate the need for the Captcha which surely ranks as one of the most infuriating of all website security measures man has invented!
What I find most annoying is that I wont bother to preview my posts anymore which I like to do especially when posting pictures.
has any one come up with the formula for reading these images?
I get that an upper case letter written half size is lower case but what about these 3/4 size letters.
Just took 3 attempts till I realised there were upper and lower case letters. It seems to me that the Caps are the largest, as stated and the lower case are printed as that, lower case...... Who would have guessed?
They are upper and lower case but they're not consistent and on some letters it's hard to see the size difference...and then 2/3rds of the time, I'm sure I've got it right and it still doesn't work...maybe the numerics are upper and lower case too ???
I have been in contact with bravenet and I must stay they do listen. Here their reaction:
Okay, we've added the lines back between each post.
We've also fixed up the captcha so it's not case-sensitive anymore, and we have removed the 'l' which was commonly confused with '1'. The other captcha didn't work properly across all forums which is why we had to switch to this one. Anyhow, hopefully this helps usability.
