This is a slightly less cropped scan from 'Les Motos et La Guerre' by Borgé & Viasnoff - a not over-researched mid 1970s softback. It's in the chapter on May 1940 and they caption it "une estafette anglaise avale un quart de thé sur la route de Dunkerque. La moto est une BSA"
Completely wrong on dates and probably location but they did get the bike right.
They're sloppy on their photo attributions too but seem to imply that it's from a private collection. However, it seems to have been published elsewhere as well.
Rik, my copy of this photo is from a magazine called Soldier from April 1946. The British Army Magazine. The caption reads " checking in after a gruelling trip, the dispatch rider enjoys a brew-up and a smoke. During the campaign in North West Europe DR's at Second Army Main HQ covered a distance of 20 times round the world and carried a million and a half dispatches"
