It appears that your center stand in the first picture was rotating way too far under the bike, but in the updates it looks correct.

Had the frame ears been cut or trimmed? I am asking because I think mine have and I am wondering how you fixed it. Did you weld in new pieces?

Thanks for your encouragement guys. In response to you Brian, a PO had cut off the Stand Stop Tabs, so I had to fabricate then weld new ones on..

I agree it's looking splendid, with just the right amount of sheen to make the paintwork serviceable and easier to keep clean. But it's no good putting it off! You will have to fit that stand spring one day

Any suggestions on fabricating and welding new center stand stop tabs? Did you have a template of some kind to know what they were supposed to look like?

In answer to your question Brian, I managed to use a good frame to make templates for the stops.. I then fitted the stand and used that as a datum to position the stops on both sides in the right position for welding. I hope that explains things...
