lucas magneto and generator dating and models help

hi all just writing to see if anyone can steer me in the right direction on correct maggy and dyno for a 1936 hm21 and how do you date the 1930,s maggys and dynos. my maggy has the flat cam plate in it and i think it should have the cylinder type cam in it thanks Glenn

Glenn, I don't know the exact specs for BSA mags but can recognise some of the more obvious differences.

earlier Pre-war mags didn't have the small aluminium data plates but were stamped along the edge of the mounting plate. Generally with a month and year only such as this one - March 1934.
