I took a ride on Mulholland on my M20 back in June. There's a photographer that shoots there and sells pics on the internet. Checked his site today:

Yes, I was definitely on the oldest bike that Sunday. I passed a couple of bikes, too! Truth be told though, plenty passed me.

And, yes, you are quite correct! That very set of corners higher up the hill from the world famous Rock Store is where plenty of crashes happen every weekend. There was famous one a little over a year ago where a moron riding over his head on one of those Chinese SV650 copies hit two bicyclists.
