Im off to buy another bottom end tomororw ( well, ill look at it tomorrow )

The Engine number is 20.57276 and it has a W stamped just under the maggy mounting plate, can someone tell me the year please ?
he wants $500 for it and assures me the big end is very good. nothing in the timming case . the oil pump is fitted, as is the cover and nuts and studs holding it on .
Someone please tell me im doing the right thing as im hopeing to swap it for a G/box at a later date .

From the websites numbers page the engine number is from 1942.
I'd be trying to knock a couple of hundred off of that price as complete engines(unrestored) can be had for that price
