Re: Look what I just found!

Nice ! Air Cleaner for Flying Flea and James ML.............

When found, the markings are usually knackered............worth investigating if you can get a decal/transfer made from this decent NOS original Dave to assist others out............shame Derrick from Classic Transfers has recently passed away as I'm certain he would have been delighted to assist............

Re: Look what I just found!

They should really be screen printed, I won't be using it for a while, so if anyone wants to take up the challenge let me know.

Re: Look what I just found!

Hi Dave,
What a nice find. My old mate Steve let me have his spare air maze earlier in the year. The plate looks nearly identical but yours is much clearer.
Drags has just had a load of screen printing done on various items, I'll find out who did it, perhaps they might be worth geting done.
Cheers, Mick.

Re: Look what I just found!

I think there three types of air maze filters but I've only seen the flat backed type, the same as mine fitted to WD bikes, I think the type you have is an earlier type from the late thirties. I have had the same one as yours before but could never see one fitted to either the ML or the Flea so I passed it on and I had a heck of a job finding the correct one for the flea, I had to make the front part up from scratch as the only one I could find was a broken one. I was going to use the Coopers one that was fitted to the Allen Scythe and get rid of the two brass pieces that run down the side and make a new back part. Fortunately I have found this NOS one, so the Coopers one is up for grabs. I have seen the correct one fitted two the Allen scythe occasionally so they are a good place to start looking on the horticultural machinery websites.
