I'll shortly be spraying some of the parts for the sprinter that are not alloy or stainless steel...Not a lot...The frame sections, tele fork sliders and the fairing....

I just cannot decide on the right colour though...

For example...Conservative...Black...Loud...Candy apple red or plain odd...KGP No3.. ....Bearing in mind I have the dustbin fairing to spray as well at some point....

So...I thought I'd take a 'straw pole' amongst the forum members...Not so much for the colour but the 'class' of colour...

A nice metallic pink will get you noticed...and talked about

Deep Bronze Green or a pre-war BSA green...period, racey and military if not wartime. If it's too sober then paint the nose of the fairing yellow. (No, not gas paint !)

There does seem to be an amazing consensus around Dark Bronze Green so I may go for that as the 'base' colour....

I quite like Daves black and white chequer as well, though that might be beyond my spraying ability at this point .....I think I'll need a professional for that part as I definitely don't want any form of 'sticker'....

More ideas welcome though...it's giving me food for thought....Ian

Personally I prefer a more subtle approach. I think things like flashes, stripes or chequered tape are too ostentatious and tacky. Like hiring a stretched Humvee for a night out.
Green seems to appeal to most. What could be more appropriate and classy than British Racing Green. Ron

for anything as agricultral as an M20 surely only mid bronze green will do, same as used on Land Rovers and Lister engines

You need a silver frame and an orange tank. At one time the worlds fastest motorcycles were painted this way.

A bit of both really...
This isn't your typical M20 for sure...but on the other hand I'm still not convinced you can make a 'silk purse from a sows ear'... or that the concept of an M20 sprinter can really be taken totally seriously.... ....

I agree totally...Although I take the engineering challenge involved completely seriously, you can only laugh at the dumb concept... ..

Conversely though (or maybe perversely) it would be just too easy to get a Suzuki Hyabusa, bolt on a turbo kit and go really fast...That, primarily, only requires a cheque book....

Going considerably slower on an M20 (though proportionally faster) demands a lot more effort....Ian
