My son has some late WW2 flying boots with the rubber soles and sheepskin lined. There is a black rubber band that goes all way around the boots at the base by the sole. The rubber is perished and we need to repair it. Out local boot maker says he cannot help. Has anyone had any experiance of any product that can be used to repair rubber? Any suggestions would be gratefully received as he wants to wear them at the Goodwood revival. Cheers John
They used to use rubber reinforced with cloth as webbing on upholstered chairs, maybe an upholsterer could help? I just googled it for myself and there is a lot out there, if it's too wide you could get a steel rule and a sharp knife and trim it down
If it is a repair, rather than replacement of the rubber, you might consider looking on the frost restoration site.
They have a pourable rubber solution which you can re-cast worn rubber parts, perhaps paint it on to give an extra coat of rubber over the old one ?
I can get hold of rubber sheet no problem, which you cold stick on, but don't really know what you want to do to repair it.

Some years ago I went into a magazine (shop) in a place called Vorkuta in the Soviet Arctic and there on the shelve were a pair of aviator's boots, rubber soles, leather uppers and felt tops, lovely!But alas there was no way to get them home so there might still be there.
