Sadly Lettice Curtis has died at the age of 99. She was a remarkable woman and flew over 400 types of aircraft during WW2. A fantastic role model to young women rather than the awful plastic "celebritie" WAGs that influence the current generation.. JT
The ATA were a brave and vitally important bunch of men and women who are only recently beginning to get some credit for their part in the war. Lettice was a fascinating lady who led a very interesting life and there are several books about her out there. I hadn't seen her death reported on the news, so thanks for posting the sad news on the forum.
