My grandson has a very good memory (unlike granddad... ) so he knew that my WDM20 lacked a brass maintenance plate. Obviously, he scanned the web, was unable to find it on Ebay but found somewhere an image of such plate. He had no means to scan or copy the image, so he took a pencil and made a sketch; not bad at all, for a 12 year old . And yesterday he gave me as a birthday present from his piggy bank the money to get such plate .
Now my question: where can I get one...? I have two places to put it: the toolbox and the valve spring cover.
Any info appreciated!

There are 2 plates on my bike which I do not recognize:
This one in on the engine,
(This is not the same engine I got with the bike, it's one I built)

Indeed, my thoughts, Southern Command.

Noam, the triangular plate is most likely a civillian dealer plate, as the numberplate holder is not original to the bike.

Peter Long must have had a sample to make these copies off, but still think it's postwar.

The plate I showed above was most likely used, in combination with the bore tabs (Rob Miller repro'd them some years ago)

I got that plate from Peter Long, but it is steel, and not brass that I supposed it to be. No problem though.
But can anybody me explain what the "Mains undersize" means...

Don't forget Hans, this plate will also relate to vehicle engines where a crankshaft is ground down to accept thicker white metal bearings. The main bearings are the ones that hold the crankshaft into the block. Shell bearings will all be stamped on the back the amount of under size. As far as motorcycles go, Royal Enfield for one, use loose rollers in cages. You can buy oversize rollers. Hitchcock's have them in four different sizes, from memory. I guess a shaft that is worn or ground down a bit is considered 'Under-size' also. But you don't usually find undersize B/E or mains on our bikes as they are usually just replaced. Ron

That's one of the first he made, I also had one of these. Later I bought one with the idea of getting a similar one and that was just a brass plate with painted text on it.
