My father's MP bike in Japan.

Hello,

This photo is of my father and his MP bike taken in Japan we think,
when he served there in the J-force mid 1940s .

I have a civilianized WD20 here in Australia that I'd like to paint
the fuel tank the same as, if someone can shed some light on what the
colours of the tank and it's stripes and fern leaf were, whether the
tank was possibly navy blue and black, or all black or all navy blue.
Evidently the NZ MP Jeeps were painted navy blue. I've been in
contact with the NZ military museum but to no avail. I'm guessing the
fern leaves would have been silver or white, and the thin outer
pinstripes probably gold , but no idea what the thicker stripe would
have been. The MP on the front mudguard was red from what I've been
told.

Any help will be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Anthony

Can't help with any info Anthony, but thanks for posting nice different picture. An interesting variant and I can see why you want to replicate it.
