Bearing question.

Hi all,

A bearing dealer told me that he has few NOS units of MRJA7/8,
But what he actually had, was Hoffmann RMS9V3.

I cannot find any evidence that it is an MRJA7/8 equivalent.
Is it?...

Thanks,
Noam.

Re: Bearing question.

Hi Noam,Darren Wrudd is a bearing man,why not mail him direct?he will surely know.
I think at some stage all bearing manufacturers would have a finger in every pie.
On another note, maybe (as you have to live with it) can you tell me,where the
Palestinians are getting these rockets from? Are they just very effective home msde
devices,or more advanced military stuff that is supplied by someone to further the cause.
I am not taking sides or making judgement or anything like that, just curious
as the press never explain everything.
hope you and yours are safe,
cheers Rick

Re: Bearing question.

Hi Rick,

Thanks.

I will try to ask the dealer, and may take your advice and mail Darren Wrudd.

Regarding your question-
I was just starting to reply, and then had to peel my kids (17, 14, 10 YO / Summer vacation)
And wife (175 YO) out of bed and run for shelter, as the siren started..

But as this is and always was a non-politic forum, and I totally respect and like it,
I will give an informative answer only, and will also take no sides.

So- that's what I found regarding the main artillery arsenal:
Organisations in Gaza started at Jan 2001 by sending mostly mortar bombs.

Then, they developed few versions of the "Quassam" missile,

A primitive rocket, ranged to 3, 8 or 10-15 Km, ("El-Kuds") home made from tube, lathe, few wildings, but effective at it's ranges.

Then, you have the Russian "Grad" ("Katyusha") developed at the 60's, range- 20 to 40 Km.
More than 3000 units have been shot.

Then you have the Russian anti-tank "Cornet" for closer ranges,

Other newer Syrian M-302, or R-190 Chinese based. (Range- up to 150Km.)

M-75 -Hamas self-production, range- up to 75Km.

And the new long range J80, I do not know the rage yet, but 4 of them exploded above Tel-Aviv.
We are lucky to have the Iron Dome system,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Dome

Which intercepts some 90% of them while still at mid air.

I took a clip of one of them at night last week, when was meeting with the classic vehicle club.
I can mail it to you if you wish.

Best regards to all !

Noam.

Re: Bearing question.

And update:

I called the dealer, and he promised that this bearing
Is identical to the MRJA7/8.

I also mailed Darren.

Thanks,
Noam.

Re: Bearing question.

OK,

So Darren had sent me a very nice mail, with allot of info,
(Thanks again Darren )

And he confirms that the bearings are the same,
But advised to look for rust or corrosion marks,
As this bearing should be 50 years old, at least..

FYI,
Noam.
