Over the past several weeks I have ask a lot of questions about mounting the mag, the mag oil seal and other questions. Well today I got to the point to try to start it and after a couple kicks I fired right up but wouldn't stay running, would run only 2 or 3 seconds. I kept messing with it and finally could keep it running maybe 10 seconds at idle. Just as soon as I tried to come off idle it dies. It will die shortly even at idle. I check plug and it seems too wet. I have needle in 2nd grove, I have pilot jet 1 1/2 turns out. Tried at 1 and also 2 without luck. When I set timing I got it just a little late BUT sometime it kicks back like it is early. Eather way I would think it is close enough to run longer than it does. I have cleaned all passages in carb. and got new needle, needle jet and main jet. Anyway with temp in high 90's I give up today and will fool with it more later. In the mean time I'll do more reading and maybe someone here will give me some tip.

Cam timing has crossed my mind. I am sure it is right. However if I contimue to have trouble making it run I will double check that.[/quote]
Back out today and got it running good enough to find out part of what is wrong. I tickled till gas appeared and used full choke (slide down. If I un choke just a little it dies. I suppose the pilot air is plugged either in the body or the jet block. I sure thought I had that cleaned in all passages. Guess not. Gona take carb off and check passages again.
There is one passage in the jet block that gets overlooked. I posted a 3D cad view of that jet block here last fall. Try searching for 'jet block' using the forum search tool.
